Where did you take this picture? My friend says it is tropical, and not native to SF. Were you in the “Hall of Flowers” in Golden Gate Park, or a private collection?

It’s in someone’s front near to where I parked for Bart. I never pay attention to it before. The Pink outer layer got my attention today.

Well Jim, the Latin name for it is “Strobilanthes Atropurpurea”. It’s common name is “Persian Shield”. It is a native of tropical Asia
